Suspended chandelier with a spherical shade made of Pulese glass. Made in Murano.
Made in Italy in the 1960s.
The shade’s mounting base is made of white-lacquered metal, and the other components are made of brass.
The chandelier’s style closely resembles the designs of Afra and Tobia Scarpa.
The spherical shade is made of authentic hand-blown Murano glass.
The craftsmanship is characterized by the inclusion of thousands of intentional air bubbles (the “pulegoso” or “craquelé” effect), which softly diffuse the light and create evocative reflections on the walls.
The upper frame features a light-colored cylindrical collar fitted with a metal suspension bracket, with a minimalist design typical of the style of Afra and Tobia Scarpa or of Mazzega’s craftsmanship from that period.
At the center of the glass sphere is a metal cylinder housing the lamp holder, designed to prevent direct glare from the bulb.
