This vintage 5x7 Persian Kilim is a mid-century rug believed to originate from the Shahsavan tribe circa 1950-1960.
Handwoven in wool, its design favors stripes and traditional geometric patterns in salmon, navy blue and beige-brown tones. Keen eyes will further admire a subtle embroidered texture in many of the motifs—a subtle, personal element in the many beauties of nomadic Persian folk art. It’s a comfortable piece with old-world charm, and its versatile size offers vast design applications as well.
This mid-century Northwest Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
