Beautiful watercolor landscape of the countryside. Two people are walking on a pontoon towards their cottage with their dog. The colors are soft and the horizon seems blurred, which is one of the characteristics of the artist. We also discover many details such as the reflection of the characters in the water or the movement of the wind on the high grass. Despite a certain realism in the whole, the treatment of the vegetation shows the beginnings of impressionism.
This work was created in 1854 by the artist P.Girard.
Pierre Girard is a great artist of the eighteenth century. His work "The Colosseum of Mount Palatine" dating from 1844 can be found in the Louvre Museum.
