1950s Original French Metal Dining Chair, designed by Joseph Mathieu and made by Pierre Benite in Lyon. Very special is the wood in the bottom of the legs. (see the photo) These chairs are an iconic part of French industrial history. Each chair was pressed by hand in huge industrial presses before being welded together by hand. The chair is in its authentic paint. Chairs like these make an exceptional design statement. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
