Base cabinet consisting of … Read more Seldom seen cabinet designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller circa 1940. Cabinet in two parts. Base cabinet consisting of four scalloped front doors with large carved wooden knobs with Art Deco flair. Behind doors are black lacquered drawers and shelves, left bank of drawers having cork lined bottoms. Upper cabinet has center cabinet with drop front door revealing fitted secretary in black lacquer surrounded by open shelving with two glass vertical supports. Beautiful use of mixed woods including Paldao burled elm figured walnut and teak. This exquisite pieces has been tastefully restored to resemble is original grand design.
