Charles Levier is a French painter born in Corsica in 1920, in a French-American family. He died in 2003. He studied at the National School of Decorative Arts but the war interrupted his studies and he joined the North African army. However, his works quickly seduced the American public, first on the West Coast, then in New York in the 1950s. In parallel, he exhibited in Paris. American collectors became very interested in the artist and snapped up his paintings, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, and Prince Poniatoski.
Charles Levier's works are in the collections of the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Seattle Museum, the Atlanta Museum and others. This piece has an attribution mark,
