Vintage Arcade Cast Iron Deluxe Express Pullman Train
Includes 4 cars
We don't sell a lot of our personal items, however my uncle found this in my dads things after he passed away. He knew I could help find a new home for this wonderful piece of history. We'd love for this to go to a collector who can properly restore and appreciate it.
It's also interesting to us that this has 4 cars. The few others we were able to track down only had 2 cars. If you have more info, we'd love to learn, feel free to message us!
When researching this piece, we found this info on the Arcade site:
1933 – The company designs a line of toys for Chicago’s Century of Progress World’s Fair. The line includes five sizes of buses, called “people-movers,” taxis, and Railplane cars that all have the logo “Century of Progress, Chicago, 1933” stenciled on the vehicle’s roofs.
Needs some TLC, there is a lot of rust, the rubber wheels are disintegrating and the mechanism that hooks the cars together needs to be replace or welded back together. Would be a fun project for an Arcade Toy Train collector!
