Poorly framed and without glass, this original horizontal format sepia photo was taken in 1959 in Bariloche / Argentina according to the handwritten note in the back that reads:.
"I was sent there by UPI on a cream-puff assignment to cover the visit of a group of US hunters and fisherman participating in an Aerolíneas Argentinas promotion. We put up at the magnificent Llao Llao Hotel. While there I met the owner/bartender of a downtown Inn, who had arrived there in 1940-1941 as one of the survivors of the Scuttling of the German Battleship Graf Spee, in the estuary of the Rio Plata,Germans had put in to neutral Uruguay pursued by 3 British Cruisers"
