Iconic vintage modern set of four chrome wire Pantonova cubes by Verner Panton. These have been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that they are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. One cube had loose welds and was repaired. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.

MY, MY, MY… What have we HERE? (insert your best James Bond voice here) Cubes. Chrome Cubes. LOL! Ok, more like we have a FABULOUS set of four Verner Panton Pantanova chrome wire cubes with black plastic feet to offer to you. Verner Panton designed the modular wire Pantonova line in 1971 and it quickly became the epitome of the whole 1970’s vibe!! The Pantanova sofa was featured in the 1977 James Bond movie “The Spy Who Loved Me,” as the seating choice for villain shipping tycoon Karl Stromberg! So, you’re dealing with a LEGENDARY line here!!! They’re very heavy, very versatile, and aside from their obvious awesomeness, they are ENDLESSLY USEFUL!! Seriously, there are limitless ways to use them. Just a few suggestions would be that they will be fabulous footstools, wonderful end or side tables, a phenomenal pair of nightstands, stylish extra seating, put all 4 together side by side and create a long, narrow coffee table or a backless bench, put all 4 together in a square and create a different coffee table, stack them vertically and use as spectacular shelving, we could go on and on…
Verner Panton was born in Gamtofte, Denmark and studied at Odense Technical College before enrolling at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen as an architecture student. He worked from 1950-1952 in the architectural firm with Arne Jacobsen and founded an independent studio for architecture and design in 1955 where he collaborated with Fritz Hansen. He attracted wider attention with the geometric forms of his furniture designs for the company Plus-Linje founded by Percy Von Halling-Koch. Panton's collaboration with Vitra began in the early 1960s, when they jointly developed what became his best-known design, the Panton Chair, which was introduced in 1967. He was awarded many prizes and made many contributions to design developments. Mr. Panton passed away in 1998 in Copenhagen. Vitra's re-edition of designs by Panton, as well as the retrospective of his work mounted by the Vitra Design Museum in 2000. Panton's interior installations and designs have attained legendary status. -Designer’s & Architects.
