This is an Art Deco nude woman sculpture attributed to Hagenauer. The sculpture is chrome and sits atop a circular amber lucite stepped base.
Karl Hagenauer (1898–1956) was an influential Austrian designer in the Art Deco style.
Hagenauer founded what became the Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien. His son Karl, who would eventually assume leadership of the family business, enrolled at the Vienna School of Applied Arts at age eleven where he studied with Josef Hoffmann.
He created designs for the Wiener Werkstätte art collective joining the family business in 1919.
This sculpture works with virtually any decor. She is clearly modernist and streamline with her long thin form therefore, works well with Art Deco, Mid century, Minimalist or traditional decor. The base has a great deal of crequelure throughout due to age, but it is solid. The sculpture measures one foot high including the base.
