This vintage 5x12 Persian Kilim is believed to be a tribal rug of Karadagh—a mountainous region known for its craft. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The bold design prefers geometric patterns in polychromatic tones, though it favors a gorgeous pink undertone. Keen eyes will further admire chartreuse, navy blue, black, and white in the many hues and their bombastic sense of movement. Connoisseurs might argue these unusual, vibrant tones and funky patterns capture the ideal tribal rug in its gorgeous personality. The look is one of playful, rustic charm like, and its versatile size hosts vast applications today.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Persian flat weave further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
