Beginning with the top left print and continuing clock-wise (with the first photo), the prints are as follows: Catesby 1754, Vol 1 Pl. 31, The Little Thrush, Catesby 1754, Vol 2 Pl. 83, Wafer-Ash, Catesby 1754, Appendix Pl. 13, Silky Camellia, Catesby 1754, Vol 2 Pl. 88, Bahaman, . Catesby's work was a formative and important series of 220 natural history prints of birds, animals, fish and plants native to the Southeast United States and the Bahamas. These are prints of original hand-colored engravings. The Natural History was published in two volumes of five parts comprising a total of 200 plates. The appendix added about 20 more. The artist George Edwards revised and re-issued both volumes from 1748-1756 and in 1771 the publisher Benjamin White reissued the Edwards version adding Linnaean names to all Catesby's plants and animals...as you can see on these prints. These were purchased in the 80's from a fine art gallery in Charleston, SC. The prints had the gallery sticker on the back but have fallen off over the years. The matting has a sage green ribbon bordering each print and a gold seal on top of an off white matting. The gold-leaf frames are excellent quality and mimic a subtle bamboo effect. The total size of each framed print is 20"w x 24 1/4" H . These are truly beautiful and timeless classic prints. See less

Not noticeable when hanging on the wall. I only noticed when the print was laying flat on the ground. Could be fixed by a fine art framer but barely noticeable when hanging. less
