Remarkable mahogany port wardrobe, with imposing dimensions, wearing a core crossbow in the shape of a heart.
It opens with two large doors cut into a hug in the upper part. They consist of panels behind the contours underlined by wavy moldings. Each of these doors is maintained by three important brass cards and is provided with a long entrance to the lock. The right leaf is equipped with an original lock with three points of catchphrase. The furniture is supplied with the key to the time. Note that each of the panels benefits from a mahogany veneer to pretty ramages, symmetrical on a skillfully concealed vertical axis. The interior is garnished with four shelves 59 cm deep placed on fixed cleats and two drawers with unequal widths.
The low cross of this impressive wardrobe is generously songwrited and has shell, foliage and winding sets.
We will generally appreciate the many sculptures with various patterns present on the entire furniture: under the cornice, at the top of the doors, between them \.
Despite their substantial height, the sides are made up of a single panel, also behind.
The whole rests on two feet snails at the front and two more sober feet on the back.
The shelves, the interior and the back of this Nantes furniture are in oak.
We will specify that this wardrobe is listed in the book 'The Nantes decor of the shipowner in the 18th century', by Françoise Maillet. In addition to its 250 years of stories, the assets and the singularity of this regional piece of furniture reside essentially in the form of its cornice and the omnipresence of its sculptures.
