TV Lamps are a particularly iconic type of vintage home decor. Manufactured primarily in the 1950's and early 60's these little lamps were designed to sit on top of the television and shine against the wall behind it to cast a soft glow to alleviate the eye strain of viewing in a darkened room. Highly decorative, TV Lamps came in a variety of shapes and themes, but are most commonly glazed ceramic with some painted details.
This particular lamp features a crouching panther at the base of a tree. The light is finished in a high-gloss chestnut-brown glaze.
Approximate measurements are 14"tall (w/o harp) 21" tall (with harp) 15.25" wide and 5.25" deep
