This vintage 5x14 Persian Kilim is believed to be a Shahsavan tribal rug, and a unique piece in its period. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960 from a rare selection of colorful mid-century flat weaves.
Further on the Design:
The piece is made with panel-woven stripes in a polychromatic style that’s very special and meticulous for its time. Keen eyes will admire these vibrant accents and variations within the prevailing teal, red, and beige-brown tones. It’s a finely detailed, yet still quite livable and comfortable design that further enjoys good condition for its provenance.
This mid-century Persian Shahsavan Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
