The key is very typical for the work of Paolo Buffa and also the relief on the front of the two doors; The ribbed surface. Master wood worker Serafino Arrighi was specialised in making such ribbed panels and you can see it back in much of his work. (see the other Paolo Buffa high credenza's in our collection). The ribs create an extra aspect in contrast to the smooth surfaces and if the light is good somewhere during the day it always gives an extra dimension. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
