A 19th-century French 'trumeau' (or 'pier glass') mirror, in gilded wood. This monumental Louis XVI-style mirror would have originally been set into the wood panelling or wall space between two windows to amplify the light, and add a reflective, decorative element to the wall. The upper portion features a still life painting of a bouquet of roses and lilacs surrounded by finely carved giltwood foliage swags.
The top features a carved giltwood ribbon detail.
