Still-life is a composition of "motionless" objects. In Dutch still-life paintings of the 17th century, fabric expression, the way the surface of what was depicted, and exhibiting the wealth of exotic objects was very important. These beautiful quail eggs are playfully composed, making the image cheerful. The still-life photography of Marlou Pulles is a balanced search for stillness, with at the same time a penchant for movement and lightness. The geometric shape in the background support and enhance the floating eggs. Movement and rhythm emerge. The fragility and the beautiful patterns on the eggshells of the quail eggs come fully into their own. Shapes and objects come alive in the stillness of her art photography. Time is stopped to enjoy the simple beauty of natural objects.
