Canvas, oil, 50x70 cm in the artist's work, the stones on the seashore are painted with safe strokes. The color of the work is soft and saturated at the same time. Waves are lapping in the distance. The artist has devoted his attention to the depiction of a rocky seashore on the coast of the vidzeme sea, which is the eastern shore of the gulf of riga in the baltic sea. Aleksandrs zviedris studied painting with d. Gailitis since 1928, then in drawing courses at k. Brencens in the latvian art academy (1934 – 35), and in the studio of j. R. Tillbergs (1938 – 40). The artist visited sweden, finland, norway, and denmark in 1938 on a yacht, then he traveled in europe - visited england, france, holland and germany in 1939. Zviedris took part in exhibitions since 1932. He organized about 50 solo exhibitions in riga, tukums, jurmala, ventspils, liepaja etc. His works were exhibited in krasnoyarsk, novosibirsk, tomsk, germany, japan, england, sweden, austria, lebanon, usa, italy, finland, belgium, chile and egypt. A. Zviedris was a member of the latvian artists’ union since 1945. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
