He was called … Read more Oto pladers (1897.8.iii – 1970.2.v) oto pladers learned in riga city school of art (1913 – 15). He was called into the army in 1916 and continued studies after the war in latvia art academy under the guidance of j. R. Tillbergs (1921 – 25) and v. Purvitis (1926 – 29), but he didn’t graduate academy. O. Pladers worked as a teacher in school of dubulti and later in tartu school of art “pallas” (1925 – 26). He worked as a stage designer in national opera (1936), as a restorer in city art museum (1938). After the second world war artist was a pedagogue in j. Rozentals riga school of art. He was a member of independent artists society (1923 – 40), and took part in its exhibitions since 1923. Artist set out on a creative journey to paris in 1930. Self-exhibitions were made in riga (1930, 1932, 1967). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
