Soldier. 1950. Cardboard, author technique, 39,5x20 cm Artwork depicts a soldier in motion. Author has used a mixed media technique on cardboard. Both the soldier himself and the fence visible in the background are textured. Purple and turquoise colors depict the sky. Creation of this piece is influenced by modern art and although many different styles are encompassed by the term modernism, there are underlying principles that define it: a rejection of history and conservative values; innovation with form (shapes, colors and lines) - in this case use of fractures. There is also uses of mixed media which is more about experimentation and freedom like in contemporary art. Theme and content of this war art illustrates and records aspects of war and defense and the artist's experience of war. The role of the artist and his work in this case is to illustrate the causes, course, and consequences of conflict. Artist records military activities in his own way. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
