The figure likely depicts Lama Tsongkapa (1357-1419), a Tibetan philosopher and founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Lama is seated upon a double lotus plinth in diamond position, draped in monk's robes and wearing the pointed yellow hat of the Gelug tradition.
