The flat top is leveled and has softly molded edges. The cabinets are topped with curved rear rails.
The drop-front desk is at center, top, and is fitted with pigeonholes separated by curvy dividers. There is storage space above and below the pigeonholes. The space at bottom may store a laptop and keyboard. The work surface on the back of the fall front door is inset with textured green leather. The desk does lock, and a key is provided. The desk sits high, as does a classic butler's desk, so it may be utilized as a standing desk or with a high stool.
Below the desk is a cabinet door that gives access to the installed bar cart; however, with a twist of the key and a press of the button, the bar cart pulls out completely and may be used as a separate piece of furniture, leaving space under the desk to store your work stoolor chair.
The walnut bar cart has a clear glass top above two wooden shelves. On the lower shelf are six holes for bottle storage, three on each side. The bar cart is on casters and rolls easily. The trolley may also be used as a coffee, tea, and cocoa station or as a space for your printer and other office equipment.
Two glazed display cabinets are fitted with two shaped glass shelves each. The cabinets lock and keys are included. These would house drinking glasses and decanters very well.
The keyhole escutcheons on the desk and the cabinet doors are shaped and marbled thermoplastic, similar to Catalin and Bakelite, in caramel, amber, and root beer tones.
The keyhole escutcheon on the bar cart is a scalloped roundel in brass.
The bar cart lock is marked with patent numbers and the name ASRO, registered in the UK. ASRO, or Ash and Rogers, was a lock company established in 1921 in England by a Mr. Ash and a Mr. Rogers. They manufactured different types of locks, but one was a special lock for use with bar handles. They were taken over after a move in 1936 by a furniture company who was their largest customer. Probably the company who made this desk/bar/cabinet combo. Wish we knew more!
A screw eye is installed in the bottom edge on the back to create stability.
