Vassily Kandinsky (1866, Russian Empire - 1944, France). Pioneer of abstract art, Vassily Kandinsky is not only Russian: he is above all an international artist who lived several years in Paris, traveled to Europe, and made herself known by his theoretical essay "of the spiritual in art "(1911). This major artist, member of the Bauhaus and creator of the Blaue Reiter, marks a decisive turning point in the birth of abstraction.
