This vintage 4x9 Persian Kilim is a tribal rug from Meshkin—a small northwestern village known for its fabulous long rugs like this gallery runner. Handwoven in wool, it originates circa 1950-1960.
Further on the Design:
The rich design prefers medallions on an open field, and plays rich brick and rust red beside black and green hues in its geometry. Keen eyes will admire how the play of an orange accent lets the central medallions sit more presently on the field. Its a subtle element, but the mark of a deft hand that testifies to this collectible as one of its many gorgeous traits.
Further on the Condition:
This mid-century Northwest Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its provenance, and is ready for the floor.
