Prometheus a Greek mythological figure is represented in this panel.
To this hero, a friend of mankind, are linked some ancient myths that had luck and spread in Greece.
Prometheus is a titan friend of humanity and progress:
he steals fire from the gods to give it to men and suffers the punishment of Zeus who binds him to a cliff on the edge
of the world and then plunges him into the Tartar, at the centre of the Earth.
He often symbolized the struggle of progress and freedom against power.
