Champleve is an enameling technique that enamels raised surfaces on a cast brass or bronze object and then fired.
Not to be confused with cloisonné that solders wires in a design to a flat surface and then fills those areas with enamel.
Made in Japan, strikingly beautiful, will be passed down through the ages.

The closest I can come to a “defect” is that the enamel is slightly fading and there’s a small ding on one side and the enamel has come loose. Pitting expected.
