Antique 41" Haag Mary w Jesus Hand Carved Painted Wooden Statue Gold World w Stars
An antique tall Mary and Jesus hand carved and painted solid wooden statue. One side at the bottom it is deeply hand carved stating HAAG. In this religious statue, Jesus is not a baby but a young boy standing on the gold color world. On the gold globe are numerous embossed stars. Original paint. Many interesting and curious details on this rather tall statue of Mary and Jesus. A few issues to date its age. Jesus is missing a thumb. A small age crack is on the side of Mary's head and glue repair to Mary's crown. Hence, selling as is. 9 inches wide by 9.50 inches deep by 41 inches tall. Widest part of body is 13 inches wide by 8 inches deep. Mary's crown is 5.50 inches in diameter. Also, hand engraved into the wood on one side of the base of this statue states: Privateigerfum von Hugo Weinhoppel 1912 to . Roughly translated, it states Private property of Hugo Weinhoppel from 1912 to 20 10. This is interpreted in America as 1912 October 20th. So very rare to find this type of statue that is offered up for sale in today's world. Nice condition after all these years. So very beautiful. Guesstimated weight is 60 pounds.
