Take a moment to look at the extremely fine hand painted porcelain tea set in colourful enamels with gold highlights. Complete tea service for two including teapot & lid, sugar & lid, creamer & lid, and two cup & large saucer sets. Each piece very carefully hand painted with individual scenes portraying country folk or villagers rice farming, cooking and tea drinking amongst other pastimes, against wonderful Japanese landscapes of mountains and lakes so typical of this style.
Each piece marked on the underside with a 3-character Kutani maker's mark hand painted in red. Additionally each piece has a seal / calligraphy chop on the body within a square plaque as shown. This could be the artists / workshop seal.
Taisho period (1912 - 1926).
Condition is excellent. Probably never used.
