Impressive and surprising pair of macaws made in fiberglass in the 70's, in Italy. These sculptures have been conceived to be installed on a wall, as a pair, as they are in opposite positions, facing each other.
The extraordinary mix of pop colors such as orange, green, blue, yellow and black, applied with a compressor or air gun, is striking. They are then coated with an epoxy or plastic resin that gives them an intense shine. They are highly decorative pieces, very sought after by interior designers, due to the difficulty in finding them in the art and collector's market. They are ideal for decorating a restaurant, hotel, etc.; also in a garden or glazed porch, framing the entrance of a house.
They have some wood on the back to hang it on the wall, and weigh very little for being fiberglass. In very good condition given its age and use.
It comes from a hotel in Toulouse, France.
