description:
french four-bay chest of drawers from the mid-18th century.

piece of furniture standing on studded feet and veneered in rosewood.
the front is divided into two wide drawers below and two narrower drawers above. The bronze fittings mounted in the same way on all levels make the three rows of drawers look the same at first sight. The design of the veneer also emphasizes this impression.
different grain gradients of one and the same type of wood discreetly divide the visible surfaces. Thus, the drawer fronts are divided into rectangular areas, while the sides and the top panel are veneered in diamond shapes.

there is an old paris inventory sticker on the back panel.

condition:
refinished condition with age-typical marks from use and environmental exposure. Shrinkage cracks in drawer bottoms and back panel have been closed, loosened veneers have been glued down, hardware has been cleaned.
