It is equipped with a functional original lock with its key and its bronze entrance. When open, it rests on two sliding supports with brass knobs. The writing area is darkened with a black leather with gold vignette and central motif. The interior, said to be stepped, offers, on each side, three shaped drawers and, in the center, a door forming a tabernacle with shelf. A particularity of this piece of furniture is its niche, which conceals two clasps. This system allows the two small drawers in the front to be closed alternately.
Under them opens a large drawer with an original lock in working condition. All three are recessed, molded, and dressed with bronze drop handles.
The uprights, also undercut and humpbacked at the front, end in snail feet.
The lower crosspiece is slightly cut out and decorated with a shell in the center.
The sides are made of a single seamless panel with square flush edges.
