American, unique Hammond Write Machine No. 26 from 1915
The typewriter is mounted on an original oak base and has original clips-chips, so you can permanently combine the base with a cover and close tightly in such an oak trunk for transport. All elements of the machine and housing are original, including stickers, trademarks, details, etc. serial number of this copy 862.
Made by Hammond Typewriter Company from New York around 1910-1915.
The typewriter is in good condition, with age, consumption proportional to age. Not checked as to the correct operation, we sell as a decorative object. It is all, complete, just like in the picture.
The Hammond typewriter was invented by James Bartlett Hammond and produced for the first time in 1881. The cut used by the typewriter was also available as a foundry type from Inland Type Foundry. John Jonathon Pratt sold his patent rights to the company in 1882 for the production of typewriter.
