A burst of pure delight in primary colors, by a notable artist who's been exhibited at many of America's most important museums. It was painted during the mid-century resurgence of cubism, and has that (now) highly sought-after mid-century feel integrated with the "classic" look of early 20th-century art. Glicenstein Romano's work has been exhibited at, and in many cases is in the collections of, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Musee Nacional de France, The Whitney, the Met, and so on. Signed lower right. Comes pre-framed in an elaborate wooden frame. 30" x 33.5" with frame. 21" x 24" without frame. Proudly presented by Guy Lyman Fine Art, New Orleans, with our firm guarantee.
The following is information about the artist as it appears in the AskArt database:
"Born in Rome, Italy, Emanuel Romano became a painter, illustrator, muralist and teacher in New York City where from 1944 to 1945 he taught at the City College of New York. One of his murals is in the Klondike Building, Welfare Island, New York.
He studied in Switzerland and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and in 1940 at the Art Institute of Chicago.
