She has a georgeous emerald green velvet dress empire style, with a lace collar. She has beautiful delicately balanced earrings and necklace. What I love about this painting is the attention to details. Her face is spotted with freckles or tiny moles, not really detracting from her looks. Her hair is impeccably coiffed. The frame is a gilted gesso frame common in the 19c and its original to the tableaux. This is a canvas painting stretched over a board. There is a tiny chip in on it not even noticable. There is crackling in the oil which is common for paintings this age. This is a unsigned painting, probably done by portrait painters of the time. See less
