Fabulous vintage mid-century modern cubist style painting of a gorgeous hatted figure standing in boat, being rowed gently down the stream. Acrylic on canvas on masonite board. Signed in lower left margin. Original frame.
Eugene P. Nowlen was born in 1899 and died September 27, 1977. He studied and graduated from MIT, Boston, in Architecture. He also studied with Sueo Serisawa, Paul Darrow, Hans Burkhardt, and Leonard Edmondson. Active exhibition program, several one-man exhibits. Source from Laguna Beach Art Association cat. 1978.
