moreI fell in love with this small divan in Paris when I purchased it in the late 1960s. At that time it was at the entrance of an apartment. The owner used it to place items as she was entering and leaving. This piece also works as a resting day bed, for napping or relaxing.
It was originally stuffed with horsehair. Several years ago I had it reupholstered in heavy fabric with celadon tones of nature scenes of birds and pheasants. The trim is rust-colored velvet.
Although the fabric is still in good condition, it has settled and flattened over the years, as expected. It could be recovered, or for a much lower cost, the cushions could be restuffed. That could be a do-it-yourself project if you are handy with sewing, or it can be professionally plumped up.
Both sides of the day bed are retractable and can be lowered to create a comfortable bed. The seat height from the floor is approximately 13 inches.
I hope the new owner will enjoy this unusual and unique day bed as much as I have. less

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
