Notable New Orleans artist Sarah House's work centers around what she calls "fractals" - occurrences of order in nature, here appearing as crystal forms juxtaposed with a more amorphous, scalloped mass that looks almost as though it has been carved by surf or weather. Check out her mastery of surfaces: the lacquer-shiny facets of the "crystals" next to the abraded, matte "matrix" material. Absolutely striking and attention-getting, a real conversation piece, and sizable so it doesn't get lost on a table top or mantel. House has participated in Artist in Residence programs in Baltimore, Maine, Montana, Hungary, Taiwan, Denmark, Iceland and Chile. She is a Windgate Fellow, a Nyburg Fellow and has been recognized globally for her work, exhibiting across Europe, Asia, and North America. Sarah currently works in her New Orleans studio.
