Renate Müller originally designed her therapeutic toys for children's homes and children's hospitals in the GDR. After the fall of the Wall, a New York gallery owner became aware of the animals and made the objects known in the USA.
In 2012, the stuffed animals were even presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art, in the exhibition "Century of the Child". Since then, Renate Müller animals are sought-after design objects worldwide.
