Laszlo Schalk was a member of the Rippl-Rónai Society (Rippl-Ronai)
(Budapest, 1945-1949)
The president of the society after the liberation was Monostori Moller Pal. The exhibition was given to artists who were excluded from the European School. From post-impressionism through surrealism to abstraction, almost all of the major trends emerged in the works of exhibiting artists. Among his members were László Bartha, Geza Bene, Jeno Benedek, Ferenc Bolmányi, Géza Boross, Jozsef Egry, Istvan Gal, Walter Madarassy, László Marosan, László Schalk, Sandi Szandai and Oszwald Toroczkai. After 1949 their liberalism was no longer compatible with the expectations of official art politics.
