German-Israeli artist ARYE LEO PEYSACK (1894-1972). Peysack was born in 1894 and trained in Germany. He immigrated to Palestine in the early 1920s, traveled extensively around the country and captured the landscapes of the Holy Land and its people. Some works, dating to as early as 1924, have come to auction. President Roosevelt was presented with an oil painting entitled the Rebirth of the Holy Land, depicting the
work of the Jewish Kibbutz pioneers in Galilee.
