Fine art print––not a poster! Set of two horizontal constellation star maps featuring the northern and southern constellations. Restored from antique nautical maps dated to 1849. Dimension of each framed print is 48" wide x 24" high.
The print has a 2:1 aspect ratio. It is highest quality giclée print on 255gsm heavyweight premium 100% cotton archival fine art paper using archival pigment ink.
About the print:
"The months marked at the foot of the map are to show the aspect of the Equatorial Heavens about midnight. By noting the stars on the map immediately over the name of the month, and then looking at the sky in the opposite direction to the elevated pole, the different constellations will readily be recognized. In Southern latitudes, reverse the map."
