Pair antique early 19th century Paris porcelain 3 tier dessert tazzas in the "Vintage" pattern - Rufus King service by Pochet-Deroche circa 1825.
Decorated with grape vine borders on a salmon or apricot ground enhanced by rich gilding. Rufus King, of Massachusetts and New York, was a Revolutionary War hero, lawyer and a signer of the U.S. Constitution. This pattern was ordered for use at the American Legation in London, where King served two terms as Minister, the highest diplomatic rank at the time.
Measures 16" tall. Good condition. Each tazza is made up of several porcelain pieces held together with a metal rod. The fabric spacers are gone and the plates are loose and turn freely. This is typical of these wares.
