Henkel Harris … Read more Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this wonderful pair of vintage Henkel Harris Mahogany chairs. Henkel Harris continues to produce some of the finest home furnishings with exquisite attention to detail of timeless antique designs. The partnership began in 1940's between the Henkel family and John Harris. The unlikely trio was rather inexperienced in cabinet making but spent countless hours studying antiques they coveted so highly. They paid particular mind to the way these timeless treasures were crafted and finished and sought out to recreate the quality of Americas golden age of cabinetry. The chairs were made in the Chippendale style with carved ball & claw feet, carved ears, & shell carvings on the crest. The chairs also have cut outs on the seat box and both chairs are armchairs. The seats have a yellow and green fabric stretched over them, but we would recommend doing them over because they have some stains and weren’t finished properly. These are slip seats so they can be lifted right out of the frames, and any upholster should be able to recover them for about $20 a chair. One chair retains the original paper label showing these are finish #29 and the other chair lost its paper tag but has the Henkel Harris brand. The chairs measure 28 1/2” wide x 23” deep x 40” tall. The seats are 21 1/2” wide between the arms x 16 1/2” deep with an 18” seat height. See less
