This wooden tansu is a fine example of the traditional mobile cabinets in Japan. Lacquered finish. Four long drawers. The front features exceptional iron hardware, while the handles on the sides remind us that this piece was made for the journey. Kasane closet means "chest on chest". So easily movable. With its clean lines, nicely weathered appearance and handy storage space, this Tansu wardrobe from the Japanese Meiji period will add an exotic touch to any home.
