An imposing pair of antique brass church candlesticks, most likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The candlesticks have a tall and monumental silhouette composed of richly profiled, turned forms. Their broad stepped bases provide stability, while the large circular drip pans create an elegant break within the vertical design. Each candlestick is topped with a generously sized holder for a substantial altar candle.

Over time, the warm brass has developed a lively patina, with subtle variations in colour, discolouration and signs of use reflecting their original function within an ecclesiastical setting. The two candlesticks differ slightly from one another, further enhancing their authentic historic character.

Standing approximately 90 cm high, they form a powerful and sculptural display when presented together. They would look particularly striking beside a fireplace, in a spacious entrance hall, gallery, shop interior or as a focal point within an eclectic or brutalist setting.

In attractive antique condition, with normal wear, scratches, minor dents, oxidation and patina consistent with their age and original use.
