This very rare french vintage engineer's lamp by ki e klair model 210 from 1920 is not only incredibly beautiful, but also extremely practical.
like many ki-é-klair lamps, it has many refinements that make it a practical work lamp. Unlike many other clamp lights, this light is built for vertical mounting. You can of course attach it to a desk, but it must have legs to which the lamp can be screwed. In addition, heating pipes, shelves, cabinets, and many other places are suitable. You can adjust its height because it has a telescopic system in the middle pole. When clamped, you can not only adjust its angle of inclination, but also rotate it 360 degrees around itself. In addition, you can also turn the entire lamp body downwards when attaching it. That means, for example, she can to be clamped to a tube and shines from below upwards, like an uplighter.
what is definitely special about the lamp is the fusion of function and typical french art deco design. Alphonse pinoit (1881-1961) designed this lamp and his initials and manufacturer's logo are on the screws. They are still present in very few lamps and make this piece really special.
the lamp is made of high-quality chrome-plated aluminum. The hood of the lamp has a sleek design that creates a typically french look. It has some signs of wear and slight dents. The lamp can easily be clamped to a table leg or similar vertical strut. The lamp was featured in photos of jean prouvé's salon. It was attached to his drafting tables. As such, the piece is a fine piece of french design history.
ki-é-klair, the name of the company literally means "which lights up".
the electrics of the lamp were renewed by the electrician. The lamp works with french bayonet light bulbs, preferably led, so that the lamp does not get too hot.
