The teeth and the eyes are made of glass and, for the eyes, they are painted in the middle to make pupils. This is characteristic of a sculpture from the republic period, that is to say at the beginning of the 19th century from 1900 to 1930, and which was intended for export. What is characteristic is the attention given in the work much more to the top of the sculpture than to the bottom, and this is typical of his early 19th century sculptures made in China.
