Important subject in bronze with golden patina representing a tiger on the march, signed on the terrace of the French sculptor Christophe Fratin (1801/1864), which was one of the first to practice animal style, very trendy in the middle of the 19th century. This former student of Géricault, son of a taxidermist, is known for the finesse and realism of these achievements. The artist chosen here as the biggest model of the felines, who seems to be grooved peacefully. We guess his striped coat, suggested by the artist, and the strength of his powerful muscles. The terrace, also in bronze, subtly figures the vegetation on which it advances.
With striking realism, this work will appeal to lovers of animal art, and will mark your decoration with its presence.
