Subject in bronze with patina medal signed Charles Anfrie (1833-1905), representing a soldier responsible for passing messages during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.
Charles Anfrie is a recognized French sculptor from the XIXth century which had the predilection of historical and mythological themes.
Titled "Estafette - 3. Brigade of dragons" with the mention "Salon des Beaux Arts 1888", this bronze represents an elegant man, his head high and his hand on the heart. His helmet and his barrels at his feet.
